General Proprieties
Alloy L-605 (UNS R30605) is a cobalt-based, solid-solution strengthened alloy that has excellent high temperature strength, good oxidation resistance up to 1093°C, and excellent sulfidation resistance. This alloy also offers good resistance to wear and galling. The high temperature strength results from solid-solution strengthening by tungsten with second phase strengthening by precipitated carbides.
Alloy L-605 is used in the hot sections of aircraft and land based gas turbines in combustor liners and other applications requiring moderate strength and good oxidation resistance at high temperatures. The alloy can also be used in industrial furnace applications such as muffles and liners in high temperature kilns. This alloy is also know as Udimet® L-605. Alloy L-605 is available at CHUN & VOLLERIN in these formats: Bars, Plates.
