General Proprieties
The F44 (UNS S31254) steel is a super austenitic stainless steel with a high level of molybdenum and nitrogen, providing high resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion as well as high strength compared with conventional austenitic stainless steels such as 316L steel. Depending on the environment, F44 steel offers high economy combined with corrosion resistance comparable to that of Nickel alloy and pure titanium. The F44 steel combines moderately good mechanical strength and high ductility with excellent corrosion resistance in a variety of environments.
The F44 steel is known to possess excellent workability as well and is often used in Chemical Process Industry, such as for Urea Production, Organic and Fatty Acids, High halide concentrations, etc. The F44 steel is available at CHUN & VOLLERIN in the following formats: Bars, Plates, Stripes.
